Collaborative Divorce Coaching
Collaborative divorce is a process that aims to resolve disputes amicably and reach mutually agreeable solutions without going to court. In this approach, both parties and lawyers commit to working together transparently and constructively to find solutions. It’s a team-based approach that includes professionals focussed on finance, children advocacy, and a collaborative divorce coach to support people through the process.
Engaging the support of a trained collaborative divorce coach can significantly ease the daunting task of navigating separation. As the coach, I serve as a valuable ally, offering assistance and guidance through the spectrum of intense emotions often associated with separation, including sadness, anger, hurt, fear, uncertainty, and loneliness. There might also be confusion surrounding crucial decisions. I can assist in navigating challenging conversations, facilitating effective communication with both ex-partners and children, mitigating conflict, understanding the stages of grief, and alleviating overall strain. By addressing the emotional dimensions of the situation, counselling actively contributes to fostering a more cooperative and healthier transition for everyone involved in the divorce process.
Parenting Plans
An important part of your separation agreement is the creation of a parenting plan that reflects the best interest of your family and children. I assist clients in creating new parenting plans or modifying existing plans that may not be working for children and/or parents.
The plans are co-created by both parents and are not finalized until all parties feel comfortable and empowered. Since co-parenting is for life, having sustainable parenting plans in place that are in the whole family’s best interest allows them to move forward in different, yet more positive ways.
This parenting plan process works best when each person has their own divorce coach representing their best interests. I can recommend an experienced divorce coach for your partner if they’re in need of one.
